The Baltimore Oriole is a specie from the Icterus genus. It is found in the eastern and central U.S and in south-eastern and south-central Canada. It winters in Central America and Florida. It summers in the northern U.S. and Canada. It lives in parks, woodlands, and suburban areas.


It is 8-9 in. long and has a wingspan 11-12 in. The male has a black head, a black and white wing, and a fire-orange breast and belly. Female ia a drab yellow with brown-buff wings.


When it is the breeding season, the male will bow, spread its wings and tail as a courtship display. Its song is a series of whistles.


It eats fruits and berries.
