Like the Arabian Oryx, do Gray Wolves count as natural predators to the other oryxes (especially to the Gemsbok that were introduced to North America)?

The Animal Database Wiki is a wonderful place, and I'd like to call for help with the Marine Wiki, whose admins are nowhere to be found. Please help me contribute here, an any help would be appreciated. Forgive me if this breaks any rules (advertising wiki), but I could not find any pages with rules on the wiki.

  • Jak Himself

Hello everybody! I'm Jace (known as "Jak Himself"). I'm an experienced editor and administrator from the Jak and Daxter Wiki. I'm a herpetoculturalist, which basically means I enjoy learning about keeping herptiles (reptiles and amphibians). I breed veiled chameleons and have experience with a few other lizards and frogs, therefore my efforts will be focused on the "Reptiles and Amphibians" section of this wiki. :-)

I'm considering adopting the wiki once I make a few more edits that will be considered adoption-worthy. If any of the existing community wishes to discuss this topic below it would probably help in deciding whether or not this becomes successful.

I already have quite a few changes I would like to make when and if I become a promine…

The Sharktahorse  is a large mammal that lives in Montana and parts of Europe. There are 2 species. Their aliases include Sea horses, Shark horses, Bronzies, (in bronze sharktahorses) and Them by the locals.

    1. Great white sharktahorse
    2. Bronze sharktahorse

Great white sharktahorse's are said to be the most feared species. They also happen to be the second largest of the 3. They have the ferocious head of a great white. The coloring of the great white happens to stretch throughout the back too. The rest of it has the same appearance and anatomy of a white stallion. Because of their amazing structure, they are capable of speeds up to 45 mph, far faster than any human. They may look majestic, but never approach a white sharktahorse without the comp…

The Okapisaurus  (Okapia Dinosaurum) is a newly discovered species of animal, recently found in the Ituri rainforest. It closely resembles the Okapi.

It is a species of Sauropod that revolutionized an enormous breakthrough in the modern world. It has an ovular body with a long neck. The neck allows it to reach leaves high above the canopy. On top of the neck, situates a small okapi-like head. It sports a short (compared to it's body) tail that has the same stripes okapis have. It's thick legs support it's massive weight. It's hind feet have 4 toes, each about 20 inches long. It's front feet appear almost like hooves, but skin covers over the actual hoof part. It has thick padding on it's feet which allow it to barely be heard when walking. It…

I have decided that I will make an upcoming blog series, New animal species. I will not discuss actual newly discovered species, but I will discuss animal species I have come up with. Please tell me what you think about this and even offer ideas. I will try to do them every day. My first one will be Okapisaurus. I would add more info, but I'm really tired and don't really want to add a lot of detail. Sorry, thanks.

Hai there, since there are so many wikis on animals out there, don't you guys agree that we affiliate with each other? That way, we could integrate between the users to visit other wiki that are also on animals topic.

These two wikis the those I'm currently editing at:

    1. Marine wiki
      • This wiki focuses more on the marine life and habitats. I am also the admin here.
    2. Animal Central wiki
      • Focuses on the domesticated animals (eg,cats and dogs). This is quite new wiki, any new users are welcome to contribute.

And these are other wiki that also on animals topic but seemingly inactive, just so someone might find interest.

    1. Animals wiki
    2. Dogs-Cats wiki

If the admin here would like to make an affiliation with the first two wiki, find me either on Marine Wiki or A…

I am going to have a competition in which whoever creates the best animals wiki page wins. Obviously I can't give a prize but the winner will be granted the title of Best Wiki Contributor of the Week. When I say week I mean this will be a weekly thing so you will be given an opportunity to win! If you want to enter leave me a message saying which page you have created or highly edited. You can copy of Wikipedia or anywhere else, but when I say copy I don't mean copy and paste I mean hand typed. Thankyou

The title is kinda self explanatory. I figure a blog would be a great place to get the comunity involved in coming up with new ideas on how to improve the site and what needs to be done. Personally I think maybe an evolutionary tree would be useful but I'm not sure how that could be implemented. What are your ideas and suggestions?

    World Turtle Day

    May 23, 2012 by Bchwood

Know what today is? It's World Turtle Day! What the heck is "world turtle day" you ask yourself? Well, first of all, it's today, May 23, 2012. And secondly, it's simply a day that calls the world's attention to this wonderful creature for the purpose of conservation. In other words, it's also a day not to eat turtle soup!

The turtley day has been sponsored yearly since 2000 by American Tortoise Rescue. It also encompasses the health and prosperity of tortoises. How does one celebrate World Turtle Day you might wonder? All sorts of ways really. Some people dress up as turtles; others save turtles caught on highways; researchers hold festive activities. And I'm writing this blog! In honor of World Turtle Day, I'm also posting a photo of my fav…

This wiki could be a thousand times its present size.

So could its recent "rival", the Zoology Wikia.

Both can get there faster by using the thousands of pages already created on Wikipedia about the subject. And a big part of using those pages effectively is to use the Wikipedia page names exactly (wherever possible) so that other pages copied from Wikipedia start off with links to pages here and don't require a lot of link-editing to match up.

So do you want Category:Chordates as on Wikipedia or Category:Chordata ?

Can you bear to use sentence case instead of Title Case for all page names? (It saves an appreciable amount of time for anyone creating a link to the page in text)?
