The Wolverine is a specie from the Gulo genus. It can be found primarily in remote reaches of the Northern boreal forests and subarctic and alpine tundra of the Northern hemisphere.

It has a stocky and muscular body supported by its short legs. Its head and ears are rounded. It has a thick dark colored fur, which is resistant to frost. With its round blunt head and bear-like appearance, its easily mistaken for a bear.

The wolverine is a powerful predator and scavenger. Basically solitary, the wolverine requires a lot of space to roam.

Its diet consists of small mammals and has been recorded for killing prey such as adult deer.

Breeding season starts in June or August. Litters of typically two or three young ("kits") are born in the spring. Sometimes the young will live with their mother until they are two years of age, when they mature enough to reproduce themselves. An average Wolverine lives for about seven to twelve years.
